Afrika Tikkun; Orange Farm aims to continue their mission of transformative development along with agroecologist Tim Abaa in the Orange Farm Township. Abaa intends to promote agroecology and bio intensive agriculture to fight poverty by starting sustainable farming enterprises and food gardens in rural and urban areas as well as townships.
Batau Ba Seloane Tribal Authority would like to assist a rural community located about 20km outside of Mable Hall in Limpopo. The community owns vast amounts of arable land and there is great potential to develop a sustainable economy with AgriHubs that would form commercial value chains and secure livelihoods.
The community Baphiring Tribal Council aims to support is led by a progressive young Chief with a population of approximately 20 000. The Chief is concerned about high poverty rates and intends to develop AgriHubs to create a secure income source for his community by producing food for both local and export markets.
The SAWC aims to assist SpringValley Farm, a collection of over 6 communities led by the Mnisi Tribal Authority in Mpumalanga. After COVID left community members without a secure source of income to provide for their families, the SAWC is ready to step in and help re-introduce hope with seed distribution and food security for households.
Nourish Eco Village intends to assist the community of Sigagule and the surrounding rural villages in the Acornhoek area of Mpumalanga who struggle daily with food security, access to running water and other necessities of life. It is in this poverty cycle that the Nourish Foundation works, and is eager for support.
The Free Ethiopian Church Of Southern Africa aims to assist the households within their congregation to increase food security through sustainable practices.
Due to the success of previous initiatives, Ngqayizivele Co-Operative aims to continue demonstrating the importance of collaboration in addressing food insecurity and sparking hope for rural community members in their area. Although there is more work to be done, many families have already benefited from Ngqayizivele Co-Operative’s ongoing work within the community.
Egetsemane Agri-Farm works tirelessly within the Kwa-Ximba area to demonstrate the importance of working as a collective for the success of common goals. They have seen their community positively impacted by previous food security initiatives and are keen to continue uplifting the lives of their rural neighbours and community members.
Harry Gwala Agri exists to uplift and facilitate growth among aspiring farmers in southern Kwa-Zulu Natal. They aim to support their local district municipality, which is home to numerous rural communities, by improving individual food security and extending support to community members with an interest in producing their own food.
