Ingredients
- 250 ml (1 cup) self-raising Flour
- 2.5 ml (½ tsp) salt
- 125ml (½ cup) maize mealÂ
- 45 ml (3 Tbsp) butterÂ
- 15ml (1 Tbsp) chopped fresh coriander
- 250 ml – 375 ml (1-1½ cups) warm water
- 2 x 410 g cans Chakalaka Hot & SpicyÂ
- 1 x 410 g can Rhodes Quality Tomato Chopped & Peeled
Method
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl.
- Add the maize meal and stir to mix.
- Rub the butter into maize meal mixture.
- Add the coriander.
- Add enough water to form a stiff dough.
- Divide the mixture into 12 equal pieces and roll into balls.
- Place the Rhodes Quality Chakalaka Hot & Spicy and Rhodes Quality Tomato Chopped & Peeled into a medium saucepan with a lid and bring to a simmer.
- Drop the pap dumplings into the chakalaka sauce.
- Cover the pan with the lid and simmer for twenty minutes or until the dumplings are soft fluffy.
