Celery, Pineapple & Chickpea Salad

Crunchy and vibrant make-ahead braai side salad.


  • 4 x celery stalks, chopped
  • ½ x English cucumber, chopped
  • 1 x 430 g can Rhodes Quality Pineapple Pieces in Syrup, drained
  • 1 x 410 g can Rhodes Quality Chickpeas, drained
  • 5 ml (1tsp) honey
  • 5 ml (1tsp) lemon juice
  • 65 ml (¼ cup) plain yoghurt
  • Salt and freshly cracked black pepper


  1. Place the chopped celery, cucumber, Rhodes Quality Pineapple Pieces and Rhodes Quality
  2. Chickpeas into a large bowl and toss to mix.
  3. Mix together the honey, lemon juice and yoghurt and season to taste.
  4. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to mix.
  5. Refrigerate until serving.


Serves 6 as a side
