A spicy rub and a sweet glaze result in crispy and succulent braaid pork chops.
Ingredients
Glaze
- 500 ml (2 cups) Rhodes Quality Apple & Cranberry 100% Fruit Juice Blend
- 15 ml (1 Tbsp) Dijon mustard
- 15 ml (1 Tbsp) Honey
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Spice
- 45 ml (3 Tbsp) brown sugar
- 10 ml (2 tsp) smoked paprika
- 5 ml (1 tsp) garlic powder
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
- 15 – 20 ml (1 Tbsp +1 tsp) olive oil
Method
- Place the Rhodes Quality Apple & Cranberry 100% Fruit Juice Blend in a small saucepan.
- Add the mustard and the honey and whisk to mix.
- Bring to the boil and then lower the heat and simmer gently until reduced by half.
- Season to taste and set aside.
- Place the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper into a small bowl and stir to mix.
- Add the olive oil and stir to combine into a crumbly paste.
- Rub the spice mix over the pork chops.
- Braai the pork chops over medium coals, brushing with the apple & cranberry glaze during cooking.
- Turn the chops over and brush with the glaze on the other side.
- Braai until cooked to liking.
