Chakalaka and Ham Sandwich

Old school ham sandwiches with chakalaka

Ingredients

  • 1 x 410 g can Rhodes Quality Mild & Spicy Chakalaka
  • 8 slices bread
  • Soft butter for spreading
  • 8 slices ham
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

Method

  1. Spoon the Rhodes Quality Mild and Spicy Chakalaka into a sieve placed over a bowl.
  2. Drain, stirring occasionally until most of the sauce has dripped into the bowl.
  3. Placed the chakalaka into a bowl.
  4. Butter the bread slices.
  5. Top 4 slices of bread with 2 slices of ham.
  6. Add sliced tomato.
  7. Spoon on the chakalaka and close the sandwiches with the remaining slices.

Makes 4 Sandwiches

Cooking Times

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Tip

Stir the drained chakalaka sauce into dressings or mayonnaise.
Serve with Rhodes Quality Jam and Cheese sticks and chopped fruit
