A simple-to-make serve-ready sauce to use in stir-fry, over vegetables, noodles or as a dipping sauce.
Ingredients
- 250 ml (1 cup) Rhodes Quality 100% Pineapple Fruit Juice Blend
- 30 ml (2Tbsp) soya sauce
- 30 ml (2Tbsp) white wine vinegar
- 125 ml (½ cup) brown sugar, extra to taste
- 1 x 115 g sachet Rhodes Quality Tomato Paste
- 30 ml (2 Tbsp) corn flour
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) water
- salt
Method
- Pour the Rhodes Quality 100% Pineapple Fruit Juice Blend into a small saucepan over low heat.
- Add the soya sauce, vinegar, brown sugar and the Rhodes Quality Tomato Paste and stir to mix.
- Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for five minutes.
- Mix the corn flour and the water to a thick paste.
- Pour into the hot sauce and whisk until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
- Simmer gently for a further 5 minutes.
- Season to taste with the salt and extra sugar if required and cool.
- Use as desired.
